Progressive Soccer is concerned with the development and promotion of non-league football players across the UK. Their aim is to build connections and grant players access to the resources they require to progress their careers.
Progressive Soccer approached Web Choice with the goal of building a bespoke platform that targeted a specific section of players in the non-league UK football scene. Their approach was to reduce barriers and make it as easy as possible for players and organisations to connect and engage via the new platform.
The proposed plan was to build a controlled-access platform complete with smart user flows, robust data integrity, and a mobile-first approach to the design and layout.
Web Choice would design and build this new platform from the ground up with WordPress. Bespoke features would be implemented to cater to specific users.
We developed user-specific account areas complete with private dashboards for each user group. The dashboards were capable of:

The backend was to utilise custom post types, ACF, and custom logic to deliver full data integrity.
Elements of the profile data are visible externally; however, sensitive features are hidden behind login/role-based access. Individual users are in control of how much or how little of their profile is made visible to others, with toggles for anonymity built-in.
Search functionality is provided by dynamic filter logic allowing for a high level of precision, and each listing displayed is based on logic that restricts access to logged-in, approved users only.
The new platform required a purpose-built internal messaging system with which users are notified when messages arrive, and conversations remain entirely within the secure boundaries of the Progressive Soccer platform.
Role-based rules define which user can initiate or respond, ensuring communications stay appropriate and relevant at all times. Message moderation capabilities were also implemented at the admin level.
The platform’s aesthetic is authentic to the branding guidelines supplied - black, red, and white using clean minimalist lines and a contemporary layout.
Each and every component was first wire-framed, prototyped, and then approved before the full build commenced.
Administrators have the ability to monitor sign-ups, manage content, review message traffic (where permitted), and update system settings with utmost simplicity.
